A report issued Tuesday found that 73 U.S. metropolitan areas produced more than $40 billion of goods and services last year. A rundown of these 73 economic hubs, based on gross domestic product data released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, can be found below. Austin comes in at No. 24, but its growth rate of 43.7 percent from 2012 to 2017 was second-highest in the country, trailing only Silicon Valley at 52.1 percent.
