Economic growth in Austin is poised to continue outpacing much of the rest of the country, according to a forecast for 2020, but it’s still likely to fall short of the city’s recent track record. Sarah House, senior economist for Wells Fargo Securities, on Thursday predicted that Austin’s gross domestic product will climb by about 5% next year -- down from her estimated range of 6% to 6.5% for this year but well above her 2020 forecast of about 1.8% for the national economy.
