As rising mortgage interest rates and a return to more normal conditions continue to cool Austin's housing market, it seems area sellers are starting to adjust their often inflated asking prices for their homes. The Realtor.com survey said the initial asking price for the metro area was $558,275, a decline of 10.3% since June. Data from the Austin Board of Realtors show that the actual prices of homes being sold are still going up year-over-year in the Austin metro area, although the pace of that price appreciation is slowing.
